We all know that Filipino , in this usage, refers to the national language of the Philippines. Filipino is also designated, along with English as an official language. As a Filipino Cebuano is my primary language, Filipino is considered as my second language though I am a Filipino. Everyday in our lives especially at school, work, etc. We used Filipino language fluently without any idea that there are some uncommon Filipino words that we dont even have any idea that they actually exist. So here are some uncommonly used Filipino words Examples:
1.Panginain

English: Browser – a program with a graphical user interface for displaying HTML files, used to navigate the World Wide Web.
- Si Yana ay may takdang-aralin kaya naman agad niyang binuksan ang panginain at doon naghanap ng impormasyon.
2. Duyog

English: Eclipse – an obscuring of the light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination.
- Marami ang nakasilay sa kagandahan ng duyog kagabi
3. Salipawpaw

English: Airplane – a powered flying vehicle with fixed wings and a weight greater than that of the air it displaces.
- Sobrang namangha si Avah sa laki ng salipawpaw na kanilang sinakyan.
4. Yakis

English: Sharpener – is a device for sharpening a pencil’s writing point by shaving away its worn surface.
- Naiwan ni Adonis ang kaniyang yakis kaya naman nanghiram na lamang siya sa kaniyang kaklase.
5. Katoto

English: Friend – a person whom one knows and with whom one has a bond of mutual affection, typically exclusive of sexual or family relations.
- Itinuturing na katoto ni Lyka si Dianne dahil sa kabaitan nito.
6. Pook-Sapot

English: Website – a location connected to the Internet that maintains one or more pages on the World Wide Web.
- Maraming mga tao na gumagamit ng pook-sapot sa pagpapahayag ng kanilang sarili.
7. Miktinig

English: Microphone – an instrument for converting sound waves into electrical energy variations, which may then be amplified, transmitted, or recorded.
- Nasira ni Cyrill ang miktinig ng kanilang eskwelahan.
8. Liknayan

English: Physics – the branch of science concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy. The subject matter of physics, distinguished from that of chemistry and biology, includes mechanics, heat, light and other radiation, sound, electricity, magnetism, and the structure of atoms.
- Hilig ni Adenia pag-aralan ang liknayan.
9. Sihay

English: Cell – the smallest structural and functional unit of an organism, typically microscopic and consisting of cytoplasm and a nucleus enclosed in a membrane. Microscopic organisms typically consist of a single cell, which is either eukaryotic or prokaryotic.
- Sa siyensya madalas nababanggit ang salitang sihay.
10. Hatinig

English: Telephone – a system that converts acoustic vibrations to electrical signals in order to transmit sound, typically voices, over a distance using wire or radio.
- Si Joseph ay nakipag-usap sa kaniyang mga katrabaho gamit ang hatinig na mayroon siya.
